Click here to read Lisa’s October 2019 Newsletter: Lisa Algozzini announces her role debut as Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor on November 22, 23 and 24 with the Teatru Manoel (National Theatre if Malta 🇲🇹), one of the oldest working theaters in Europe. She also announces her role debut as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni shows during March – November 2020 at Divadlo F.X. Šaldy Liberec (National Opera of Liberec) in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿and at the Theresiensaal Mödling in Austria 🇦🇹June 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2020.
After being invited a few weeks ago by the National Opera of Liberec in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿in March 2020 to make my role debut as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, I just got invited today to perform Donna Elvira with the Theresiensaal, Mödling in Austria 🇦🇹in June 2020! So it’s official…2020 will be my year of Donna Elvira 😉!
This week I had the great pleasure of directing a play that I wrote at an Austrian school in Eggenburg. This course is designed to teach English through the creativity of theater. I’m so proud of the hard work from my students and happy with how the show has turned out.
Another bonus was dinners in the vineyards at W4 and the great hospitality of our host from the Weingut (bed and breakfast in a winery), Weingut Ruttenstock, where we stayed which offered us a glass of wine (or 2 😉) every night…a perk to working in the Weinviertel (Austria’s wine section in the northeast of Lower Austria).
My family is still in Vienna, so I took them (minus my dad, who stayed home to watch CNN 😉) on a hike with a Facebook group. Everything is pretty much shut down in Vienna on Sundays, so it nice to have a group to meet on lonely Sundays. We took the train a bit outside Vienna and met at St. Andrä-Wördern Station and from there we hiked to the Hagenbachklamm, a gorge. This gorge, along the river Hagenbach, is 1.3Km long and in the woods which provides plenty of shade, perfect for a summer since it’s significantly cooler.
Highest Point: 388m
Hiking time: ca. 4H30m
